Niimi College visits New Paltz and SUNY Ulster August 2010

Plans are being made for a group of college students from Niimi College to visit. Homestays in New Paltz are anticipated for August 20 and 21 before the students join up with SUNY Ulster students. If you are interested in getting involved, please email designsbydc@yahoo.com .

New Paltz visits Niimi October 26 - November 2, 2010

A delegation from New Paltz will leave October 26, 2010, and arrive in Japan on the 27th. After staying in Kyoto the 27th and 28th, the group will go by train to Niimi and stay with Niimi families the 29th through 31st. The group will spend Nov. 1 in a hotel near the train station and depart the next morning by train to return to the airport to fly home on the 2nd. There is a registration fee of $50 which includes the day long meetings and lunch.

Interest in getting involved in experiences with our sister city? Come to a meeting! There are many ways to get involved:


When delegations visit New Paltz:

1. Host families are needed for visiting delegation members.

2. Event planning.

3. Coordinate transportation. We need to depend on private cars for moving people in the New Paltz area.

Preparing for New Paltz visits to Niimi:

1. We always encourage people to get involved in visits to Niimi.

2. Help in planning our presentation(s) while we visit.

Possible exchanges:

We are always interested in ideas for exchanges between the two towns; for example, a photo exchange, and art exchange, pen pals, etc.
